The existing church has been renovated to accommodate multiple needs:
Enhanced gathering space
Larger nursery
Parish library
Area for funeral vigils
New octagonal baptistry
Three large meeting rooms
Office and storage space for the liturgy and music staff
In following the recommendations of the Facilities Committee, constructing a new Church building will provide more adequate space for the size of our parish. In doing that, our architect faced the challenge of reusing our present Church. Bishop D’Arcy had consecrated our former church to be used as a sacred space, where the Sacraments have been celebrated since 1992. That space will continue to be used as sacred space. Baptisms will be celebrated there, and the sacred art of building community, comforting those who mourn, and sharing our lives will occur there, setting the new Church aside for the sole purpose of praising God.
